BREAKING: Woman Found Dead in Lake Grove Home

Police are investigating incident in which a woman was found dead Thursday afternoon.

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a woman was found dead inside a home in Lake Grove Thursday afternoon.

Police said Fourth Precinct patrol officers responded to a 911 call around 1:50 p.m. and prepared to make a forced entry into a home at 8 Win Place based on the circumstances of the call.

A resident came out of the house and the officers found a woman dead inside. News 12 has identified the woman as Tricia Odierna Leitgeb.

The cause of the death is under investigation, but it is believed to be criminal, police said. No arrests have been made.

N.J. Burkett, a reporter with WABC-TV, tweeted: Mother of 5 apparently murdered in Lake Grove, LI. No suspects but detectives are seeking husband: “We’d certainly like to speak with him.”

The woman’s husband is Paul Leitgeb, who is a retired NYPD officer, News 12 reported.
