Brian “The Punisher” Weiner of Smithtown to Box in Fight for Charity Main Event

Long Island Fight for Charity, the nation's only all-volunteer charity boxing event

May 31, 2017 – Brian “The Punisher” Weiner, Program Manager for Telephonics Corporation in Farmingdale, has been selected to be a boxer for the 14th Long Island Fight for Charity, the nation’s only all-volunteer charity boxing event. The Main Event which will be held in November at the Long Island Hilton in Melville is expected to attract more than 1,200 people and raise more than $200,000 for local not-for-profit organizations including Long Island Community Chest, The Genesis School and National Foundation for Human Potential.

A resident of Smithtown, Brian Weiner chose “The Punisher” as his ring name. He will be among Long Island’s brightest, toughest and bravest business professionals who will step in the boxing ring this November. The card for the Main Event will include up to 10 bouts, pitting local business professionals against each other for charity.

“For me putting in the time and effort training and then fighting in this year’s Main Event is the end of a journey I began in 2010. I was in need of losing a good amount of weight and entered a boxing gym looking to achieve that goal. Not only did I lose weight, I discovered a hobby and a sport that became one of my favorite things to do. When the prospect of participating in the 2017 Fight for Charity came up, I jumped at the chance,” said Brian.
