Car Bursts Into Flames After Crashing Into House
The 21-year-old driver crashed while driving drunk early Monday morning, police say.

SAINT JAMES, NY - A Saint James man was charged with driving drunk after crashing his car into a house early Monday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Police responded to the crash on Bayberry Drive at about 4 a.m. and found the car on fire.
The driver, 21-year-old Jose Ayala, and two passengers were already out of the car, police said.

An officer pulled a third passenger from the backseat.
Officers, along with members of the Saint James Fire Department used fire extinguishers to put out the flames.

Ayala, and the three passengers, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
In addition, one police officer was injured during the rescue and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, police said.
The house was occupied at the time of the crash, but no one inside was injured.
Ayala was arrested and charged with DWI, police said.
