Suffolk Man Faces Murder Charge: Police
A then-16-year-old's remains were found in 2020, police say. A 19-year-old was charged with murder on Friday, police say.
CENTEREACH, NY — A Centereach man faces a murder charge in connection with the death of a teenager, Suffolk police said.
John Mann Jr., 19, of Centereach, was arrested on Friday, police said. Mann Jr. is accused of killing Henry Hernandez, then 16, of Riverhead, whose remains were found in Centereach in March 2020, police said.
Mann Jr. was charged with second-degree murder. He will be lodged at the Yaphank Correctional Facility and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at the Supreme Court in Riverhead.

Hernandez's skeletal remains were found behind a Jay Road home on March 15, 2020, police said. He was believed to have been dead for one year before his body was found, police said.
