Driver Pinned In Car After Crashing Into Pole
The driver was rear-ended by a tow truck, pushing her into the pole, while driving along Vets Memorial Highway on Sunday.
SMITHTOWN, NY - A driver was hospitalized after a collision in Smithtown on Sunday afternoon.
The Smithtown Fire Department responded to the crash at around 2:30 p.m. on Veterans Memorial Highway near the County Access Road.
According to Suffolk Police, a tow truck operated by Elite Towing was traveling east on Veterans Highway when it rear-ended a Kia, pushing it into a pole.

Firefighters worked with Suffolk County Emergency Services to extricate the occupant which took about 45 minutes.
The driver of the Kia suffered non-life threatening injuries. Eastbound Veterans Highway was closed for an hour after the crash.
