Police ID Duo Who Led Cops On Chase Following Drug Deal: SCPD

Officers chased the two men from Centereach to Lake Grove after witnessing a drug deal on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY - Two men tried to led police on a chase from Centereach to Lake Grove after officers witnessed them participating in a drug deal on Wednesday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers Nicholas Divaris and Thomas O’Brien witnessed two men make a drug transaction in a 2007 white Mercedes on North Howell Avenue at 2:15 p.m., police said.

The officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop at Middle Country Road in Lake Grove but the driver, 33-year-old Anthony Corria, of Shoreham, fled, police said.

Corria intentionally struck the police vehicle that Officers Divaris and O’Brien were in at the intersection of Ginger Court and Whispering Pines Court in Centereach at 2:26 p.m., police said.

Corria, and his passenger, 34-year-old Steve Jameau, of Centereach, then fled on foot, police said

There were no injuries.

Corria was immediately arrested.

Officers searched for Jameau, who was caught hiding in a garage at a home on Forrest Avenue in Centereach at 3 p.m., police said.

Corria with second degree criminal mischief and two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Jameau was charged with two counts of third degree sale of a controlled substance, third degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest and had 8 unrelated warrants.

The investigation is continuing.

Both men are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
