SMITHTOWN, NY — Students at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School recently had a special visitor for October's "Fire Safety Month," the Smithtown School District announced.

Mr. Ingwersen, a FDNY firefighter, visited Karyn Gabriel and Theresa Cotignola's second-grade class and Lisamarie Hausch and Erin O'Conner's kindergarten class.

"Students had a blast learning about fire equipment and fire safety," the district wrote.
