Frenchy And Rizzo, Abandoned On The L.I.E.: Smithtown Adoptable Pets Of The Week
The sister cats learned to love again after people left them in cat carriers on the side of the Long Island Expressway. Want to meet them?

SMITHTOWN, NY — Frenchy and Rizzo, a pair of 1-year-old domestic shorthair sisters, are the Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pets of the Week.
Frenchy, a calico, and Rizzo, a black cat, were abandoned in cat carriers on the side of the Long Island Expressway.
"After being scared and let down by humans, these sweet cats needed some time to adjust and learn to trust people again," the shelter wrote. "They have since become little balls of affection and love. Sometimes, they’ll let their spicy side show, but most of the time they’re complete and total mushes. We would love for these adorable siblings to be adopted into the same home. Two is definitely better than one!"

The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers and kennel attendants at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
The shelter is also seeking foster volunteers. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for an extended time.
