Great Hollow Middle Takes a Historical Trip Back in Time

Students learned about life in the Colonial period.

Seventh-grade students at Great Hollow Middle School in Nesconset gathered in the school’s library to learn about life during the Colonial period as part of their social studies curriculum.

With help from representatives of the Smithtown Historical Society, students wrote their own “table and public manners” using quill and pen, and also made tavern signs, candles and candleholders and spun wool into thread (pictured).
