Group Assaults, Robs Man At Knifepoint Near Lake Grove Restaurant

The man was hospitalized after the incident on Saturday afternoon.

LAKE GROVE, NY - A man was robbed at knifepoint and assaulted by a group in front of a Lake Grove restaurant on Saturday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.

The victim was walking from the IHOP restaurant on 141 Alexander Avenue when he was approached by four men at 2:30 p.m.

One of the men produced a knife and another demanded money.

When the victim told them he did not have money, one of the men punched him in the face.

The other men then began assaulting the victim as well.

The group stole cash and packages from the victim. They then fled, possibly in a blue Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck.

The man was transported by ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
