Henrik Lundqvist, Former Rangers Goalie, Surprises Smithtown Student
Emma, a fifth-grader, received a custom adaptive therapy bike and a greeting from Lundqvist, a former Rangers goaltender.

NEW YORK, NY — Emma Larson, a fifth-grader at Mills Pond Elementary School, was the star of the show at the New York Rangers game on Dec. 12 at Madison Square Garden, the Smithtown School District announced. She got to meet former Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.
Emma received a custom adaptive therapy bike courtesy of the Garden Of Dreams Foundation and foundation alum Ilan Shterenberg, who raised more than $6,000 so Emma could receive the bike.
Emma said she is thrilled about the gift and the surprise greeting from NHL Hall of Famer Lundqvist.

Lundqvist played 887 NHL regular season games, all with the Rangers, posting a 459-310-96 record. He had a career save percentage of .918 and 2.43 goals against average. He won the Vezina Trophy in the 2011-12 season, awarded to the best goaltender of the year.
He helped lead the Rangers to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance against the Los Angeles Kings in the 2013-14 season.
