Heroin, Xanax, Steroids Seized From Suffolk County Home: Police

A 48-year-old resident of the home faces numerous charges, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY - A Smithtown man faces numerous charges after police found a stash of drugs at his home Saturday morning, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, a search warrant was executed at a home located at 17 Winston Drive and 48-year-old Jason Widmer was arrested at 6:20 a.m.

Widmer is charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Widmer was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday and is being held on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. He is due back in court on Thursday.

Police did not say what led them to search Widmer's home, but Suffolk County Police Commissioner Tim Sini said recently (see video below) that a new narcotics tip hotline (631-852-NARC) has received more than 280 calls from Suffolk County residents reporting drug activity in their communities.
