Human Remains Discovered In Lake Grove Home: SCPD
The remains were discovered while excavating the basement on Wednesday afternoon.

LAKE GROVE, NY - Human remains were discovered in a home in Lake Grove on Wednesday afternoon, according to Suffolk Police.
Michael Carroll, 57, and his two adult sons were excavating the basement at his Olive Street home when the sons discovered what appeared to be human remains at 2 p.m.
The family called 911 and homicide detectives investigated.

Investigation revealed Michael’s parents, George and Dorothy Carroll, owned the home in 1957.

Michael and his three siblings lived in the house with their parents. George has been missing since 1961, and Dorothy died in the late 90s.

Michael is the current homeowner.
The remains were taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to be examined by an anthropologist.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392.
