Lake Grove Man Once Again Caught Driving With Suspended License

The 36-year-old had over 40 suspensions on his license. He was previously arrested in 2014 after driving with over 45 license suspensions.

ISLIP TERRACE , NY - A Lake Grove man was arrested after he was caught driving with more than 40 license suspensions in Islip Terrace on Wednesday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

A highway patrol officer pulled over a 2003 Nissan on westbound Sunrise Highway near Connetquot Avenue at 8:25 a.m. after he noticed the vehicle was missing a front license plate, police said.

The officer then determined the driver, 36-year-old James Tomassi, was driving with a license that had been suspended 41 times, police said.

Tomassi was charged with first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating while registration suspended/revoked, police said.

His vehicle was impounded.

Tomassi was previously arrested in 2014 after police found he was driving with a license that suspended or revoked 45 times.

Following his arrest in 2014, he continued to drive and was arrested two more times for leaving the scene of an accident, one accident coming just a day after he was released from jail.
