LI Driving Instructor Made Sexually Explicit Comments To Juvenile Students: Police
Police are asking anyone with additional information or who believes they may have been a victim to contact investigators.
SMITHTOWN, NY — A Long Island driving instructor was arrested Wednesday after police said he made sexually explicit and other inappropriate comments to juvenile students during driving lessons.
Suffolk County police began investigating Joseph Klein after receiving a complaint about his conduct, authorities said.
Klein, an employee of Elite Driving of Long Island, which police said is affiliated with Ivy League School Driver Education in Smithtown, made the comments to male students between July 6 and July 22, according to police.

Police said the remarks endangered the welfare of the students.
Klein, 66, of Farmingdale, was arrested in Farmingdale at about 1:42 p.m. Wednesday and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was issued a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
Investigators asked anyone with additional information or who believes they may have been a victim to call the Fourth Precinct Investigative Unit at 631-854-8426.
