Man Critically Injured In Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer In Suffolk
A sedan driver struck the side of a tractor-trailer early Thursday, police say.
ST. JAMES, NY — A man was critically injured when he crashed his sedan into a tractor-trailer in St. James early Thursday, Suffolk police said.
A 35-year-old Brentwood man was driving a 2006 Hyundai sedan on westbound Route 347 when the car struck the side of a tractor-trailer that was traveling eastbound on Middle Country Road at approximately 1:35 a.m., police said.
The Hyundai driver was brought to a hospital in critical condition. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 51-year-old New Jersey man, was not injured.

The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check. The tractor-trailer was inspected at the scene by officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section.
