Napper Tandy's Says Beer Bottle Assault Never Happened

UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: An attorney for Napper Tandy's tells Patch that the bar categorically denies that any such assault occurred inside the bar. Surveillance footage does not show anyone being hit with a beer bottle and police never came to the bar to investigate, she said.

SMITHTOWN, NY - A man was hospitalized after he was assaulted at a Smithtown bar early Sunday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

The man claims he was hit in the head with a beer bottle while in Napper Tandy’s, located on 15 E. Main St., at about 12:30 a.m., police said.

He went to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

No arrests have been made.
