Man Steals Laptop From Smithtown Shipping Store: Police

The man provided a false ID to claim a package containing a computer that was not his, police say.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help finding the man who, police said, stole a laptop from a Smithtown shipping store in December.

A man used false identification to claim a package containing a laptop at The UPS Store, at 34 East Main Street, on Dec. 13, police said. He is wanted for grand larceny.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, using a mobile app which can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play by searching P3 Tips, or online at www.P3Tips.com. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
