Man & Woman Use Stolen Credit Card For Bed Bath & Beyond Spree

They spent over $1,200 with the stolen credit card and tried to use it at Apple, too, police say.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help in finding the two people who used a stolen credit card to make a purchase in Lake Grove earlier this year.

A man and woman used a stolen credit card to buy over $1,200 worth of materials at Bed Bath & Beyond in Lake Grove on Aug. 3 around 4:30 p.m., police said. The duo also attempted to use the card at the Apple store in Smith Haven Mall, but the purchase was declined, police said.

The card was stolen from a purse in a shopping cart at Stop & Shop in Centereach less than half an hour before the spree at Bed Bath & Beyond, police said.

The man and woman are wanted for criminal possession of stolen property.

Police ask anyone with information to reach Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and leave an anonymous tip via phone call at 1-800-220-TIPS, texting "SCPD" and your message to "CRIMES" (274637) or by email at www.tipsubmit.com. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest.
