SMITHTOWN, NY — The new MOOV app is being piloted by the Smithtown Central School District.

The app, created by Smithtown High School West alumnus Kevin Camson, is aimed at "revolutionizing" how parents and students access school information, according to the district.

Camson said that the app was designed "to increase student engagement and centralize school information, making it social and accessible. It can showcase each school's events and clubs in a more dynamic and lively way on students’ phones."

High school parents and students can use MOOV to easily find what they need in one spot. The app also provides live bus tracking, can send push notifications for announcements, showcases student clubs and sports teams, broadcasts live sports streams, sends a daily brief notification in the morning detailing lunch menus, A/B day information, etc., and more.

At the elementary and middle school levels, MOOV will provide live bus tracking for parents and guardians.
