New Athletic Director Named By Smithtown School District

SMITHTOWN, NY — Jason Lambert was named the new coordinator of physical education, health, athletics and nurses of the Smithtown Central School District, the district announced on Thursday.

Lambert is a physical education teacher at Tackan Elementary School and has served the Smithtown community for nearly two decades. He has been a highly successful lacrosse coach at High School East for 11 years and has also coached football and lacrosse at Great Hollow. In 2014, Lambert was named Newsday Suffolk County Coach of the Year.

He succeeds Pat Smith, who had been the coordinator for 19 years.
