New Restaurant Opens In St. James
The new restaurant offers outdoor seating just in time for spring.

A new restaurant recently opened up in the St. James area.
The new Persian eatery, Basil Cafe, opened its doors on 413 Lake Avenue at the former site of the Zar Cafe.
The previous owner, Jay, sold the establishment to his cousin, Ray.

"Though the menu is a little different, the influence is the same," the restaurant's Facebook page reads. "Still within the family!"
Guests can enjoy Mediterranean/Persian dishes such as a variety of flatbreads, Mediterranean Sea Bass, Kabobs, and more.

While the restaurant still does not have a liquor license, diners can bring in their own alcohol. The restaurant will also be offering outdoor seating just in time for the spring.
Basil Cafe is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sundays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
