New Sonic Opens In Nesconset
The popular chain opened its fourth Long Island location this past weekend.
NESCONSET, NY - A new Sonic restaurant opened up this past weekend in Nesconset.
The latest drive-in opened on 2900 Middle Country Road, next to Ragazzi.

This is the fourth Long Island location for the chain. Sonic also has locations in Valley Stream, North Babylon, and East Meadow.
The opening comes 6 years after a struggle with Town of Smithtown officials, who originally denied the application for variances filed by the owner Spencer Hart by a 3-2 vote, according to a report in Long Island Business News.

A state supreme court judge later ruled that the denial of the application would be annulled claiming the Smithtown Board of Zoning Appeals "improperly bowed to community pressure," LIBN reports.
