Northwell Health Opens 10,000 SF Imaging Facility in Smithtown

Northwell Health Imaging has opened a $12.8 million, state-of-the-art radiology center located at 226 Middle Country Road in Smithtown. The new facility offers a spa-like setting, extended hours for convenient appointments and spacious, free parking.

The 10,000-square-foot facility offers a full range of diagnostic testing services including MRI, low-dose CT, ultrasound, image-guided biopsies, bone densitometry and digital X-ray. Northwell Health Imaging also provides comprehensive breast imaging services such as 3D mammograms, breast ultrasounds, breast MRIs and breast biopsies.

Northwell Health Imaging has Long Island’s largest group of fellowship-trained, sub-specialized radiologists. Facilities like this highlight Northwell’s standing as the first radiology practice in New York State to become designated as a Diagnostic Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology for achieving the highest levels of imaging quality, safety and care.

“This is the evolution of service delivery in Suffolk County,” said Michael J. Dowling, President and CEO of Northwell Health, at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Northwell Health leadership and staff, as well as Suffolk County Legis. Robert Trotta and members of the Smithtown Chamber of Commerce, were on hand to mark the ribbon cutting.
