NESCONSET, NY — A man and woman broke into a Nesconset home on Monday night while it was occupied by its 88-year-old resident, Suffolk police said.
The man called his grandson around 9:25 p.m. and said he heard someone in his Gibbs Pond Road home, police said. The grandson called 911. Police officer Daniel Naglieri watched two people, Caesar Powell, 29, and Tara Barton, 23, leaving the home, police said. Naglieri stopped and questioned Powell and Barton, who both live in the same Rocky Point home, police said.
Powell and Barton were charged with second-degree burglary and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
