Orphans In Ukraine Helped By Smithtown Middle School

Great Hollow Middle School students and teachers filled several boxes with donations for Ukrainian orphans ahead of the holidays.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Great Hollow Middle School teachers and students helped Ukrainian orphans ahead of the holiday season, according to the Smithtown Central School District.

Anna Fisk, a social studies teacher, spearheaded an effort to help 52 orphans in Ukraine have a brighter holiday.

The faculty, staff, students and community of Great Hollow Middle School donated 22 boxes of socks, clothing, toys and treats. The boxes were sent to two facilities in Ukraine that support children orphaned and/or displaced by the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
