Police: Baby Hospitalized After St. James Mother on Heroin Found Passed Out in Car

Jessica Rosengart, 28, was found semiconscious and slumped over in a car in Levittown Monday afternoon, police say.

A St. James woman was arrested Monday afternoon after Nassau police say she was found passed out in a car in Levittown while her infant son was “sweating profusely” in his carseat.

Jessica Rosengart, 28, was in possession of a hypodermic needle and three glassine bags containing heroin when officers found her and the baby in a locked 2013 Dodge Dart with its windows closed at 2:30 p.m. in a parking lot at 3023 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, police said.

The baby was moving around, but sweating profusely when he was found, police said. Officers needed to repeatedly knock on the window to wake up Rosengart, who had been semiconscious and slumped over in the vehicle, police said.
