Police Called To Smith Haven Mall For Gun Report, Find None

A male possibly carrying a gun was reported, but police told Patch they were unable to find the person.

LAKE GROVE, NY — Two people called Suffolk police after they saw a male with what appeared to be the outline of a gun in his pocket walking into Smith Haven Mall on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Police visited the mall around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday and searched the grounds, but officers could not find the male, police said.
