Police Investigating Non-Criminal Death In Smithtown

SMITHTOWN, NY - Police are investigating a "non-criminal death" that occurred in Smithtown on Thursday afternoon.

Police received a report of shots fired on East Main Street at about 12:10 p.m.

Police did not release any additional information.

The incident apparently occurred behind Baja Grill. A sign posted on the door of the restaurant states that the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance recently seized the property due to non payment of taxes.
