Police Seeking Man Who Stole 38 Fitbit Fitness Trackers From Lake Grove Store

Police are looking to identify and find the man who stole items from a store in Lake Grove.

A man removed a lamp from a lamp box at Bed Bath and Beyond located at 2045 Smith Haven Plaza on April 12 shortly after 1:30 p.m. and put 38 Fitbit fitness trackers inside the box, police said.

He then took the box to the cash register and paid cash for the lamp that was supposed to be inside, police said.

He then left the store without paying for the Fitbits which were worth $4,000, police said..

The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, in his late 30s to early 40s.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
