Retirees, Tenured Faculty Celebrated By Smithtown Board Of Education

SMITHTOWN, NY — Newly tenured staff and retirees were celebrated at the Smithtown Board of Education's Tuesday meeting, the school district announced.

"The work that they’ve done has been exemplary and the work that they will do we look forward to," Superintendent Mark Secaur said in a news release.

The newly approved tenure recipients are: Daniel Helmes, Matthew Furey, Jonathan Macaluso, Ann Diffley Atwood, Isabella Aviles, Dana Braun, Chelsea Carson, Jeanne Catalano, Caterina Como, Patricia-Marie Coppola, Colleen DeTommaso, Katelyn DiDonato, Jenna Echezuria, Christine Hamilton, Christopher Heedles Jr., Melissa Johnson-MacKenzie, Jennifer Kapps-Fleming, Kimberley Kaufmann, Christopher Lauto, Sabrina Lazarus, Lauren Lindstrom, Ashley Marchese, Kristin McErlean and Meaghan Pelosi.

The board of education also celebrated this academic year’s retirees as Assistant Superintendent Neil Katz introduced each member.

The retiring staff members are: Maryellen Adams, Dorothy Amoruso, Robin Baker, Eileen Barral, Eva Beringer-Lyons, Janet Bernabeo, Maryann Ceo, Linda DeLecce, Charles Dennis, Mary Diliberto, Louise Dobbs, Kathleen Eagan, Jennifer Floyd, Eileen Flynn, Elaine Froehlich, Richard Hurley, Darryl Kennedy, Jean Marie Kliphuis, Vincenza Kurakoff, Roseanne Lafranca, Janine Lavery, Debra March, Patricia O'Connor, Karen Phillips, Leslie Pramnieks, Kenneth Pyz, Glenn Rogers, Jeanne Rohena, Theresa Rossi, Elvira Ruggieri, Felicia Sheridan, Max Strieb, Barbara Vaccaro, Lillian Vitalo, Lorraine Wagner-Johnson and Robin Weisberg.
