Sign Reported Stolen From Cemetery Legally Removed

After an investigation, police found that the sign that was reported stolen was actually legally removed.

An investigation by Suffolk Police determined that the historic sign that was reported stolen was legally removed after a vote by the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society.

LAKE GROVE, NY - Suffolk Police are investigating the theft of a sign stolen from Lake Ronkonkoma Cemetery in Lake Grove.

A sign designating Lake Ronkonkoma Cemetery as a Historic Landmark of Lake Ronkonkoma was stolen from in front of the cemetery on 792 Hawkins Avenue.

The sign was last seen on April 15. It is worth over $2,900.
