Smith Haven Mall Security Guard Forces Woman To Perform Sex Act: Cops
The guard suspected the woman of shoplifting and made her perform a sex act on him before letting her leave the mall, police say.
LAKE GROVE, NY — A Smith Haven Mall security guard was arrested Thursday after police said he forced a suspected shoplifter to perform a sex act on him while on duty last year.
Jose Irizarry, 33, of Holbrook, was working as a security officer on Aug. 29 when he approached a 24-year-old woman who he suspected of shoplifting, police said. Irizarry, acting as if he was escorting the woman out of the mall, brought her into an employees-only corridor and then into a storage room, where he forced the woman to perform a sex act on him in exchange for her being allowed to leave the mall, police said.
Irizarry was arrested Thursday at the Fourth Precinct, police said. He was charged with first-degree criminal sex act.

He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
