Smithown Football Players Make Newsday’s Top 100

Four Smithtown student-athletes received the honor.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Four Smithtown high school students were named to Newsday Sports' Top 100 high school football players for 2023, the school district announced.

Jake Fields of Smithtown High School East, as well as Smithtown High School West students Martin Schook, Jack Melore and Brayden Stahl all received the honor.

Fields is a senior quarterback; Schook is a senior lineman; Melore is a senior wide receiver/safety; and Stahl is a quarterback.

Last season, Stahl threw for a Smithtown High School West record 2,662 yards and 39 touchdowns.
