SMITHTOWN, NY — Residents within the boundaries of the Smithtown School District on Tuesday voted to pass the 2022-23 school budget by a margin of 5,250 votes to 2,460.

The district's budget is $267,786,882, up 2.08 percent from last year's. The tax levy is $207,439,293, up 1.2 percent.

  • Incumbent Michael Catalanotto def. Charles Fisher by 4,582 votes to 3,201 for a three-year term.
  • Incumbent Michael Saidens def. Angela Kouvel by 4,590 votes to 3,157 for a three-year term.
