Smithtown Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Chloe
"Kitty Cat Chloe" was named the Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pet of the Week. Here's how you can adopt her.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Chloe, a 4-year-old female domestic shorthair, was named the Smithtown Pet of the Week. She was described as "a friendly, furry little attention-seeker" by the Smithtown Animal Shelter.
Chloe has special needs, according to the shelter. She suffers from a seizure disorder which is easily managed by two separate medications daily and bi-annual blood work, shelter staff said. She was adopted from the Animal Shelter as a kitten but returned when her family could not properly care for her disorder.
"Her ideal furrever home is a caring, low stress environment where she can bask in the sunlight, take in the occasional cat nap and purr through endless petting," the shelter stated in an email. "Chloe is wonderful around other cats and children, and she grew up in a home with a calm dog. She’d make a great addition to a loving family."

The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
The shelter is also seeking foster volunteers. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for extended time.
