Smithtown Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Gia
"Good Girl Gia" was named the Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pet of the Week. The French bulldog mix is less than a year old.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Gia, a French bulldog mix no older than nine months, was named the Smithtown Animal Shelter Pet of the Week.
She was rescued from a sad start to life. While she is still learning how to trust people, she is beginning to learn that playing with toys and being showered with love is a part of her daily routine.
"If anyone deserves a home for the holidays, it’s this bundle of happiness packed into a small sized dog," the shelter stated.

Gia enjoys playing with the staff and volunteers all day long. She does have some orthopedic issues, requiring special care to meet her needs. The shelter, however, feels a little extra work is worth the endless love and appreciation Gia will display when snuggling up to her owner.
If you are interested in meeting Gia, please call ahead to schedule an hour to properly interact with her in a domestic setting, which includes the shelter's Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs and the Dog Walk trail. Family Pet Meet and Greets and at-home interactions are also welcome and an integral part of the adoption process.

The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
