SMITHTOWN, NY — "The cheery" Mr. Jingles was named Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pet of the Week. He is an 8-year-old male longhair cat.

"With a name like Mr. Jingles, he’s a perfect cat to welcome into your home this holiday season!," the shelter said. "Mr. Jingles is a sweet and outgoing guy who would love to have a permanent home to snuggle up in during the cold winter."

He was found wandering outside and was brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan. Since being in the shelter, he has proven to be very affectionate and extremely social. He loves to purr when enjoying an ear scratch or snuggle. Mr. Jingles gets along with the other cats in the shelter and would do well in a home with other felines.
