Smithtown Adoptable Pets Of The Week: 7 Kittens
"Kittens" isn't the name...there's an abundance of kittens that secured this week's Smithtown Pets of the Week honors.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Seven kittens shared the honor of Smithtown Animal Shelter's Pets of the Week this go-around. These adorable little toddlers are currently residing in the shelter's kitten nursery as they await their perfect Furr-ever homes. Sadly, these little tykes are often passed up for the younger kittens (8-10 weeks) despite their beautiful coats and sweet demeanor.
Arabella, Posey, Ren, Obsidian, and Marilla are all 4-month-old Domestic Shorthair kittens. Arabella, Posey, and Marilla are females, while Ren and Obsidian (also known as Sid) are males. Statistically, the older a cat is, the more difficult it becomes to place them in a good home, according to the shelter. It hopes to find the kittens loving families while they’re still young.
Kitten season is now all-year, as there are always new kittens coming into the shelter. In 2018, there were more than 100 kittens at the shelter, or in foster care.
