Smithtown Elementary Student Awarded With 'Principal For A Day'
Oz Kai Koc, a first-grader who raised $3,125 for the school's cultural arts program, got to act as "principal" of Accompsett Elementary.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Oz Kai Koc was the top fundraiser for the Accompsett Elementary Fun Run, raising $3,125 for the school’s cultural arts program, the Smithtown School District announced.
The first-grader's prize was acting as "Principal for the Day" on Friday. He helped lead the school’s evacuation drill with the Suffolk County Police Department in addition to taking on other responsibilities.

While visiting Accompsett Middle School, Oz Kai met with the school's top guidance counselor, Mrs. Richardson. Throughout his tenure as principal, Oz Kai met with AEL staff members and students. He even held a meeting with Superintendent Dr. Mark Secaur.
