SMITHTOWN, NY — Louis Shea, a fifth grade student at Smithtown Elementary, was selected as a winner in the 2024 Shanti Fund Peace Art Calendar contest, the Smithtown School District announced.

The Shanti Fund promotes peace in schools on Long Island, and Louis's work will be featured in the 2024 Shanti Fund calendar.

Louis said he has siblings, and "it's sometimes hard to focus so I go outside sometimes and relax and read' that's where I came up with this idea."
