Smithtown High Schools Celebrate College-Bound Student-Athletes

Seniors from both Smithtown high schools signed national letters of intent to compete in college athletics.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Student-athletes from Smithtown high schools east and west signed national letters of intent to compete in college athletics, the Smithtown Central School District announced. The students were celebrated by their respective schools.

The college athletics-bound students from Smithtown HS East are James Ackerman (Bridgeport,
baseball), Owen Carroll (Delaware, lacrosse), Ellie Cerullo (Queens, volleyball), Nina DeNicola (Lehigh, lacrosse), Michael DeSano (Stony Brook, lacrosse), Jillian Garcia (Marist, soccer), Samantha Hannwacker (Stony Brook, soccer), Brooke Herber (Binghamton, soccer), Angelina Lent (Stony Brook, soccer), Vail Muller (Cleveland State, soccer) and Marcus Wertheim (Brown, lacrosse).

The Smithtown HS West representatives are: Dominic Crema (St. Thomas Aquinas, baseball), Ryan Downing (Quinnipiac, lacrosse), Colin Hansen (Adelphi, lacrosse), Saige Kazlauskas (Binghamton, swimming), Hannah Maracina (Stony Brook, soccer), Carley McAleavey (Rider, volleyball), Nicole Mennella (Hofstra, lacrosse), Katie Scheuchenko (Wagner, soccer) and Alison Tom (Maryville, field hockey).
