Smithtown Home Blaze Battled By Several Fire Departments

SMITHTOWN, NY — A Smithtown home caught fire on Friday afternoon, prompting firefighters from seven departments to respond.

The fire started on Avalon Circle around 2:40 p.m., Suffolk police said. The home borders Smithtown and Nesconset.

Injuries are currently unknown, said Rick Torre, a public information officer for the Smithtown FD.

The Nesconset Fire Department took the lead, with other departments on-scene including Smithtown, St. James, Hauppauge, Lakeland, Centereach and Central Islip.
