SMITHTOWN, NY — The Town of Smithtown is set to host its annual Menorah Lighting Ceremony from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20 at Smithtown Town Hall, at 99 W. Main St., Smithtown.

The Menorah Lighting Ceremony is a community event hosted by Supervisor Edward Wehrheim and the Smithtown Town Board. It is slated to feature Rabbi Mendel Teldon of Chabad Mid Suffolk, music, latkes, donuts and a special gelt drop, courtesy of the Smithtown Fire Department.

“This ceremony is always such a memorable one, thanks to Rabbi Mendel Teldon," Wehrheim said. "He has a wonderful way of inspiring unity, hope and love for thy neighbor, using his natural gifts for wisdom and humor. Everyone who has attended the Menorah lighting ceremony each year, always takes the time to share what a memorable experience it truly is. I’d highly recommend marking your calendars to experience this remarkable occasion.”
