ST. JAMES, NY — Smithtown High School East musicians are set to perform at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday. And they'll do so in style, thanks to the contest-winning design by student Elle Raschdorf, according to the Smithtown School District.

Raschdorf was the contest winner for the Carnegie Hall logo that was printed on T-shirts for the student musicians to wear during their big day at Carnegie Hall. The contest was part of teacher Dianne Shanian's art class. Raschdorf's logo design was chosen out of 24 submissions by orchestra teacher, Brian McCoy, and other music teachers.

Raschdorf said her logo was inspired by using "vintage tickets" and the colors of Smithtown High School East, which also is part of the Carnegie Hall logo. More than 230 students will be performing at the recital.
