SMITHTOWN, NY — Eight student-musicians from Smithtown High School West were selected to perform in the 2023-2024 Long Island String Festival Association orchestra, the Smithtown Central School District announced.

These students earned this "very prestigious honor" through outstanding scores at the 2023 NYSSMA solo festival, the school district wrote.

"In addition to demonstrating superior musicianship, these students continually excel in their ensemble classes, rehearsals and many performances throughout the year," the district wrote.
