Smithtown HS West Spanish Students Enjoy Cultural Trip To NYC
Students watched the play "La Gringa" and then enjoyed a meal at El Parador Cafe, the oldest Mexican restaurant in Manhattan.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Smithtown High School West students recently enjoyed a cultural and educational trip to Manhattan, the school district announced.
Profesora Bermudez and Profesora Tiburcio's Spanish 5 classes visited New York City on Wednesday to watch the longest-running off-Broadway Spanish language play in the city at El Repertorio Español.
"La Gringa" is a play about a young woman born in NYC who travels to Puerto Rico for the first time to meet her family and to discover her roots.

After the play, students enjoyed a delicious meal at El Parador Cafe, the oldest
Mexican restaurant in Manhattan.
"It was a day filled with language, culture, history, fun, laughter and friendship," the school district wrote.
