He beat out students of both Smithtown East and West high schools and was awarded a $500 check.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Matthew Rubesh, a student-artist at Smithtown High School West, was recognized for his top-notch art skills in a contest that spanned both Smithtown HS East and West, the school district announced.

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty hosted the art competition for students from both schools at its Smithtown branch. Rubesh was awarded a $500 check as the contest winner at a reception held on Tuesday.
