Smithtown Man Stalked Jogger: Police

The female jogger noticed the man following her on several occasions, police say.

A 51-year-old Smithtown man is accused of stalking a female jogger on several occasions.

According to Suffolk Police, a 32-year-old woman noticed a man following her while she was jogging in Ronkonkoma on several dates since April. She reported those incidents to police this Friday.

The woman was then jogging on Motor Parkway and Edgewood Avenue in Ronkonkoma Saturday at about 9:40 a.m. and noticed the same man. The woman called police and provided a description of the vehicle, police said.

A short time later, responding Fourth Precinct Officer Carol Tappen located the vehicle, a 2003 Ford Taurus, on Motor Parkway and Rosevale Avenue in Ronkonkoma, and arrested the driver, William Adragna.

Adragna, of Holly Lane in Smithtown, was charged with third degree stalking, second degree harassment and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip Sunday.
