Dog Owners Have New Place to Walk Their Canine Pals
Local dog owners now have a place to walk their dogs at Charles P. Toner Park in Nesconset.
"We had gotten multiple requests from residents, 'Wouldn't it be nice if we could walk our dogs there.' So I approached Town Board and said the park could facilitate it, there's enough room," said Town Parks Director Charles Barrett.

CodeRED Helps Reunite Two-Year-Old with Parents
Suffolk County's CodeRED emergency notification system was used to contact Hauppauge and Smithtown residents Thursday morning after a driver found a two-year-old boy walking at the intersection of Townline Road and Dorchester Road.
Police said the child was not injured.
Police said they received a phone call at 1:37 a.m. from the driver who found the wandering boy, and after officers canvassed the area, phone calls were sent to locals via the CodeRED system.
According to police, the calls were completed by 6:24 a.m., at which time the boy's parents contacted police by 6:27 a.m.
Suffolk County Commissioner Steve Levy said this incident marked the first time CodeRED successfully aided in a missing child case since its inception in 2010.
